Terms & Conditions

Booking terms, deposits, cancellations and what we expect of each other in the field.

Last updated 26 October 2026

1. Bookings and deposits

A booking is confirmed when we have received a deposit of 50% of the package price. The balance is payable on arrival at the lodge, in cash, by bank transfer or by card. Prices are quoted in US dollars per hunter and exclude licences, tags, flights, taxidermy and gratuities unless the package description says otherwise.

2. Cancellation by you

Deposits are non-refundable, because a confirmed booking takes a place out of a season we cap deliberately. If you cancel more than 180 days before your hunt and we are able to re-sell the place, your deposit will be transferred to a hunt in the following two seasons. Cancellation inside 90 days makes the full package price payable. We strongly recommend trip cancellation insurance.

3. Cancellation by us

If we cancel a hunt for any reason within our control, you may choose a full refund of everything paid, or an equivalent hunt in a following season. Where a hunt is interrupted by weather, wildfire, road closure or a change in provincial regulation, we will offer the nearest equivalent hunting available; refunds in those circumstances are at our discretion.

4. Licences, tags and firearms

Every hunter is responsible for holding the correct provincial licence and tags, and for complying with Canadian firearm import requirements. We will send the paperwork and guide you through it, but we cannot hunt anyone who arrives without valid documents, and no refund is due in that event.

5. Conduct in the field

We hunt fair chase and we follow provincial regulations to the letter. Hunters must follow their guide's instructions on safety, shot selection and species identification. We reserve the right to end a hunt without refund in the case of unsafe firearm handling, hunting under the influence of alcohol, or any deliberate breach of regulations.

6. Success and wounded game

We guarantee opportunity and effort, not a kill. An animal that is hit counts as taken and the tag is considered filled, whether or not it is recovered. Our guides will follow a wounded animal for as long as there is any prospect of recovery.

7. Trophy care and export

Field dressing, caping and delivery to a taxidermist are included. Taxidermy, dip and pack, export permits and freight are arranged on your behalf but billed separately by the providers.

8. Liability

Hunting involves inherent risk. Each hunter signs a liability waiver on arrival and is required to carry travel and medical insurance valid in Canada. We are not liable for personal injury, illness, or loss of or damage to personal property except where caused by our negligence.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the applicable laws of Canada. Questions? Write to info@dearhuntersexpeditions.com.
